‘Choice Based Credit System need of the hour’

The Vice-Chancellors, Registrars and members of Board of Studies from various state-run universities, unanimously agreed that Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) was the need of the hour, at a meeting held here on Friday. Inaugurating the meeting, Chairman of APSCHE Venugopal Reddy said the institutes should come out of the apprehension that the CBCS would reduce the staff strength and increase the workload of the faculty. He urged the V-Cs to deliberate and finalise the curriculum before implementing the CBCS. AU Vice-Chancellor G.S.N. Raju said the faculty members should break into smaller groups and deliberate on pertinent issues concerning the CBCS. Later, Ministers Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Ravela Kishore Babu and Principal Secretary Higher Education Sumita Dawra, spoke.
