Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has insulted the Nayee Brahmins, and he should immediately apologise to them for the same, BJP MLC Somu Veerraju has said. Addressing the media here on Tuesday, Mr. Veerraju said, “The CM, instead of listening to them and addressing their issues, reprimanded them.”

Sharpening his diatribe against the Chief Minister, Mr. Veerraju said, “In the State, Mr. Naidu behaves like a lion. But when he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi recently, he behaved like a cat.”

The BJP leader further said, “Mr. Naidu is a zero without Mr. Modi.” “Developing Amaravati should not be the only agenda for the CM. He should also look into the problems of north coastal A.P. and develop the region,” Mr. Veerraju said.

On the PIL filed by former Congress Minister Konathala Ramakrishna, he said, “I welcome it, as it will make public the funds the Centre has provided to A.P.” Demanding that the State government issue a statement on how much it had spent on Visakha Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS), he said, “The State government is supposed to allocate ₹100 crore every year for VIMS. We would like to know how much it has given to the institution in the last four years.”

‘Railway zone soon’

Continuing his tirade against the Chief Minister, Mr. Veerraju said, “Mr. Chandrababu Naidu is trying to project what the Centre has not given. The Chief Minister s not talking about the benefits the Centre has provided. We have already allotted Central University. Tribal university, Kadapa steel plant, and railway zone with Visakhapatnam as headquarters will be a reality soon.”

The BJP leader demanded that Mr. Naidu make public the promises he had fulfilled so far.

“We would like to know how much employment he has been able to generate and how much money the government has spent on the unemployment allowance in the last four years,” he said.

Instead of completing the Handri-Neeva project, Telugu Ganga, and other irrigation projects in the State, Mr. Naidu is focussing on Polavaram and blaming the Centre for its delay,” the BJP keader said.
