Expressing anguish at the reported vandalism of the statue of Amarjeevi Potti Sreeramulu in Nizamabad, members of the Samaikyandhra Students Joint Action Committee cleansed the statue of Potti Sreeramulu on the Beach Road here with milk on Tuesday.

Led by former professor of Andhra University Surappadu and Andhra University professor T. Narayana, the members of the JAC performed ‘ksheerabhishekam’ to the statue of Potti Sreeramulu, whose martyrdom led to the formation of the State of Andhra Pradesh in 1956.

Condemning the reported vandalism of the statue in Nizamabad, the supporters of unified State of Andhra Pradesh demanded that the State government take immediate steps to punish those responsible for the vandalism of the statue.
