United Andhra Political (UAP) JAC has been formed to intensify the agitation against bifurcation of the State. The UAP JAC members staged a demonstration in front of the Gandhi statue near GVMC office on Friday.
Announcing the formation of the UAP JAC, J.T. Rama Rao of Jai Uttarandhra demanded the resignation of MLAs, MPs, and MLC belonging to north Andhra district to exert pressure on the Centre not to go ahead with the bifurcation of the State.
Ballad singer Vangapandu Prasada Rao of Uttarandhra Dabhel Dubhel sang songs depicting the backwardness of north Andhra and highlighting the importance of unity. The Samaikyandhra JAC convened a meeting and impressed upon MLAs and others to fight for the cause of unified Andhra. Pendurthy MLA Panchakarla Ramesh Babu and former Floor Leader of the TDP in the GVMC Nalluri Bhaskara Rao extended their support to the agitation.
The MLA said that he was ready to quit for the cause of unity.

Samaikyandhra JAC State convenor A. Kishore said that a meeting of MLAs and Ministers from Seemandhra would be held at Vijayawada on Saturday to discuss the future course of action. MLAs Dronamaraju Srinivas, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, and Panchakarla Ramesh Babu would also attend. Samaikyandhra student JAC activists, under the leadership of its State convenor Lagudu Govinda Rao, staged a dharna in front of the house of MLA Tynala Vijay Kumar seeking his support.
