Two burnt alive in accident

Two persons were burnt to death in an accident involving two coal-laden lorries and a motorcycle at Gajuwaka on Saturday night.

A lorry taking coal from Gangavarama port to Raipur on the national highway was hit by another lorry also transporting coal from Visakhapatnam Port to Vijayawada.

The lorry going to Vijayawada hit a motorcyclist, dragged him leading to generation of sparks and the lorry catching fire. It hit the other lorry spreading the fire. The motorcyclist was burnt alive.

The Vijaywada lorry driver was stuck in the cabin with an injury to the leg and could not come out and was burnt alive, according to Circle-Inspector S. Appala Naidu. The driver of the other lorry and cleaners jumped out. Fire tenders rushed to the spot and put out the fire.

The motorcyclist was identified as S.Vasu, 37 of Srinagar and the lorry driver killed as Karanam Satyanarayana, 42, of Chebrolu.
