Sri Srinivasa Kalyanotsavam will be performed by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams' Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad in association with the Pydah educational institutions, at the Pydah Engineering College grounds, Gambheeram here on April 4.

This would be the 73{+r}{+d} Sri Srinivasa Kalyanotsavam being organised by the TTD, which commenced the programme in 2006 to provide an opportunity to the devotees living in different places to witness Kalyanotsavam performed as it was in the Tirumala temple every day, said TTD Chairman D.K. Adikesavulu Naidu at a press conference here on Saturday.

“In the temple, only a thousand devotees could witness the ceremony but some lakhs could see if it is performed at different places. Also not all could perform the ceremony at Tirupati. Through the Kalyanotsavams TTD is trying to create more belief and understanding of the Hindu Dharma and oneness among people”, Mr. Naidu said.

The Kalyanotsavam would be performed from 4.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. The ceremony would follow the Vaikhasana Aagama system and a running commentary would describe all the 12 steps of the ceremony. The Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel would telecast the ceremony live. Every devotee would be given a laddu, a book containing Suprabhatam, Vishnu Sahasranaamams, etc., and a photo of Lord Venkateswara.

Mr. Krishna Prasad said nearly 60,000 people could sit and watch the Kalyanotsavam at his college ground. Pydah institutions' buses and buses of some other colleges would be arranged from Maddilapalem and NAD junction to bring devotees to the venue free of cost. Secretary of the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad Rallabandi Kavita Prasad, president of the district Dharmika Mandali S. Vijaya Kumar, secretary G.R.K. Prasad and others spoke.
