Rajya Sabha member T. Subbarami Reddy on Saturday announced Rs.20 lakh for an elevator and building of Vizag Journalists' Forum at its Narla Venkateswara Rao Bhavan in Seethammadhara.

He made this announcement after inaugurating the new air-conditioned hall ‘Vinoda Vedika' on the third floor of the building, saying that he would fully support the journalists who were working for public cause.

He had been doing his bit for Visakhapatnam city which he had adopted nearly three decades ago and now he was adopting the journalists' fraternity and would take part in their welfare programmes, he added.

Gajuwaka MLA Chintalapudi Venkataramaiah and former MLA T. Gurumurthy Reddy also promised their cooperation. VJF president M. Yugandhar Reddy, vice-president Durga Rao, secretary G. Srrinu Babu, and treasurer Nagaraj Patnaik thanked Dr. Reddy for the gesture.
