Navaratnam Kesavarao Charitable Health Centre, VIP Road, a CSR initiative of Varun Group, has acquired a high-end ultrasound scanner and an immuno-analyser to serve people from economically deprived section.
Addressing the press here on Monday, Varun Dev of Varun Group said that the normal charge for an ultrasound scan at a private diagnostic centre could be around Rs. 2,000, “but we will be charging about Rs. 400 from patients with white ration card.”
According to him the ultrasound machine can be used to scan abdomen, chest, neurosonogram, obstetric, follicular study and pelvis.
He said the CSR activity was initiated in 2010 and so far it had been catering to over 1,000 patients for lab testing, consultancy and pharmacy every day.
Mr. Varun said a centre was opened in Gajuwaka in 2013 and in 2014 centres were opened at Srikakulam and near Nidadavolu. “We will be shortly opening one at Vijayawada and Bheemunipatnam,” he said.
The machines would be inaugurated by the Minister for Civil Aviation Ashok Gajapathi Raju at 5.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
