Wearing the perfect summer ensemble, teaming it up with trendy accessories, children walked down the ramp with élan. With pulsating music playing in the background, a team of 31 young participants, aged between four and 14, set the stage ablaze with their modelling skills at the finale of the ‘Max Little Icon 2015’ held at CMR Central Shopping Mall on Saturday evening.

It was a pleasant surprise for those who made their way to the mall for a weekend shopping as the little ones impressed them with their sense of fashion.

Presented as part of the Max Kids Festival, the contest saw 1,550 children participate in the auditions which took place three weeks ago. “A total of 31 children have been shortlisted. The contest was designed to introduce the young clientele to the fashion segment and encourage them to keep pace with the emerging trends. This year our focus is more on Tier-II cities such as Baroada, Coimbatore, Mangalore and Visakhapatnam where people are more fashion conscious,” says Rajesh Kumar, senior manager, marketing of Max.

Those who took part in the Little Icon contest felt that the platform provided them an opportunity to develop their personality beyond the fashion scene. “This summer vacation, it was a new experience altogether as I get to know a lot about fashion. Moreover, the grooming sessions aided in enhancing our self-confidence and overcome stage fear,” says Saanvi Verma, a Class V student who bagged the winner’s title with a cash prize of Rs.15,000.

Shashank and Manya were the first and second runners up who received a cash prize of Rs.3,000 and Rs.2,000 respectively.

Creative Plus Entertainment Network took care of the event management.
