With a view to easing the pressure on rail travellers, the East Coast Railways is adding additional coaches to a number of trains starting from Viskahapatnam.
Closely monitoring the waitlist position of different classes of trains, the ECoR has decided to provide additional coaches permanently to Jodhpur, Shirdi and LTT (Mumbai) bound trains from Puri and Chennai, Nizamuddin and Shirdi bound trains from Visakhapatnam. The additional coaches will be provided from the first week of April.
Train numbers 18473/18474 Puri-Jodhpur-Puri Express, 18407/18408 Puri-Sai Nagar Shirdi-Puri Express, 22866/22865 Puri-LTT-Puri Express will be augmented with one additional AC-3 tier coach each permanently from both the directions. Similarly, 18503/18504 Visakhapatnam-Sai Nagar Shirdi-Visakhapatnam Express, 22869/22870 Visakhapatnam-Chennai-Visakhapatnam Express will be augmented with one AC-3 tier coach each from both the directions.
Apart from this, 12803/12804 & 12807/12808 Visakhapatnam-Nizamuddin-Visakhapatnam Express will also be augmented with one AC-3 tier coach each permanently from both the directions.
The ECoR is also adding coaches temporarily to a number of important trains in its jurisdiction, based on passenger requirement, according to a statement issued here.
