Training for VDC members gets underway

A two-day training programme and exposure visit for members of village development committees (VDC) working in a Common Health Project began here on Friday.

NABARD Assistant General Manager K.V.S.S.L.V. Prasada Rao, who inaugurated the programme, said partner NGOs should provide the best possible services to tribal families. He lauded the NGOs for promoting awareness on health-seeking behaviour.

The project is being implemented by Green Vision and 11 other NGOs working for tribal development in tribal areas.

Members of 45 village development committees are attending the programme at the Youth Hostel on the Beach Road. NABARD is supporting the Common Health Project.

Green Vision Director G. Prabhakar explained the various awareness and sensitisation programmes and medical camps being organised by it in the tribal areas. Programme Coordinator Jyothi Sree spoke.
