Hinting at entering the electoral fray, actor Balakrishna has said he would meet president of Telugu Desam Party N. Chandrababu Naidu in a few days.
Right now he was busy with the success yatra of his latest film ‘Legend’, the actor said after worshipping Sri Varaha Lakshmi Nrusimha Swamy, presiding deity of Simhachalam near here, on Tuesday morning.
“Once the yatra is over, I will meet Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, discuss with him and take a decision,” he told reporters on whether he will contest to Lok Sabha or Assembly.
Balakrishna is son of NTR, founder of TDP, and closely related to Mr. Chandrababu Naidu.
He said it was also his responsibility to take the party founded by NTR to people and spread its ideology. He would campaign to strengthen the party, he added.
Mr. Balakrishna, accompanied by MLA V. Ramakrishnababu, worshipped the deity and offered silk vastrams. He embraced the “wish-fulfilling” Kappa Stambham near the sanctum sanctorum.
He said it was customary for him to worship Lakshmi Nrusimha Swamy after the success of a film.
Though some shooting of ‘Legend’ was planned at Simhachalam, it was not taken up owing to the Samaikyandhra agitation at that time.
Mr. Balakrishna flagged off a 10-day ‘Bus Yatra’ to celebrate the success of the film from Simhachalam. The film’s team headed by director Boyapati Srinu will go up to Tirupati in a specially designed bus to celebrate the success.
