Sudden thunderstorm in the morning brought a dramatic change in the weather condition in Visakhapatnam on Saturday bringing respite from scorching blazing sun.

Apparently caused by cumulonimbus clouds, many denizens woke up with the sound of transient storm of lightning and thunder. The rain, which lasted for an hour or so, was also accompanied by moderate gales.

It was partly cloudy throughout the day with average humidity remaining around 60 per cent – a welcome relief from sultry weather during past few days with humidity crossing 80 per cent. There was cool breeze throughout the day.

After rains triggered by Cyclone Roanu, the sky did not open up. The city also experienced the season’s highest 43 degree C on Monday. The rising mercury and severe humid conditions had been forcing people most of the time to stay indoors. Being weekend, the cool climate also gave an added effect to the celebration mood of the people having five-day working schedule.
