Three-day literary fest from November 28

Telugu litterateur Bongu Suryanarayana will be felicitated along with Talari Vasu by the Prasanna Bharati Vidya Sahitya Seva Trust at its annual three-day literary event here on November 28, according to K.S. Prasad of the trust.

It would be chaired by trust’s chairman Acharya P.V. Krishnaiah on the first day. Mr. Suryanarayana would be honoured for his epic work in verse ‘Sri Madhukeshavara Kshetra Mahatyam’. Mr. Talari Vasu would also be felicitated on that day for his critical study of Garikapati Narasimha Rao’s ‘Sagaraghosha’.

Winners from among 300 children who participated in the essay-writing competition would be given away prizes on the first day by chief guest and president of GITAM University M.V.V.S. Murti.

On the second day, retired AU Telugu professor Vedula Subrahmanya Sastri would preside over a session where Mr. Suryanarayana would speak on “Srinadh’s Bheemeswara Puranam” and Mr. Vasu would speak on works in environmental literature in Telugu.

On the last day, the event would have a ‘Padyakavi Sammelan’ to be conducted by Bulusu Venkateswarlu.

Retired AU professor of Telugu K. Malayavasini would chair the session. Noted scholar Salaka Raghunadha Sharma would speak on ‘Paramayogi Parikshit’.

The programme would be conducted at Sri Lalithapeetham in Lalithanagar. On the first two days, the programmes would commence at 5.30 p.m. On the last day, the programmes would commence at 10 a.m.
