A three-member gang posing as Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths entered a house, in Kasimkota, belonging to B. Srinivas Rao, an employee of REC-Anakapalli, on Friday morning, and tried to commit robbery.

According to Kasimkota inspector Vijay Kumar, the gang had come in a car and entered the house on the pretext that they were ACB officials and were conducting a raid.

As the owner of the house was not present, his wife allowed them to come in, but grew suspicious after a while. When she questioned them, they fled in the car, said the inspector.

A case was registered.
