Principal District Judge P. Sree Sudha on Friday found Majji Varahalu, his wife Nookaratnam, and wife of his younger brother Suryakala guilty of causing death of his youngest brother and sentenced each one of them under Sec. 304 (part II) of IPC to undergo rigorous imprisonment for two years and to pay a fine of Rs. 1,000.

According to public prosecutor M. Venugopala Rao, there was a dispute between the brothers over some property and during an argument the three attacked Varahalu’s father Kondababu on July 23, 2010 at their village near Kasimkota. When the youngest brother Appalaswamy Naidu came to the rescue of his father, they attacked him too. Appalaswamy Naidu was stabbed with a knife. He died on August 5, 2010 while undergoing treatment at King George Hospital here. The case was booked under Sec. 302 of IPC and was later converted to Sec. 304 (part II) of IPC.
