Three die as car rams into stationary lorry

A city builder, his wife and son were killed in a road accident at Pisinikada near Anakapalle on Saturday night. Burugupalli Umamaheswara Rao, 50, his wife Subbalakshmi, 42, and son Sai Sudheer, 20, were returning after attending a marriage at Tanuku.

In the accident, that had occurred around midnight, the luxury car they were travelling rammed into a stationary container lorry on the highway resulting in the death of the three on the spot, according to Circle Inspector Y. Srinivasa Rao. Umamaheswara Rao, who was a resident of Isukathota, was driving the car, it was stated.

Sudhir was his younger son.

The bodies were shifted to the Government Hospital for post-mortem.
