Chanting of “Govinda”-“Govindaa” and Sri Venkateswara Govinda by thousands of tribals rent the air in this mandal headquarters on Friday as TTD Dharma Prachara Parishad and Annamacharya Project conducted Sri Srinivasa Kalyanotsavams on Friday.
Thousands of tribals trekked from their hamlets to reach Gangavaram to witness the celestial wedding of Sri Venkateswara and Padmavati Devi. The TTD has released Rs. 4.91 lakhs for conducting Srinivasa Kalyanotsavams.
TTD priests led by ‘dollar' Seshadri have brought utsava idols of Lord Venkateswara and performed Kalyanotsavam in complete traditional and in accordance with Agama Sastra. Viswaksena Aaradhana, Dhwajarohana, Punyavachanam, Ankurarpana, Agni Pratista, Sankalpam, Mahasankalpam, Mangalyam Pooja, Manglya Dharana, Pusharohanam and other rituals were conducted by the priests.
Hindu Dharama Prachara Parishad president Rallabandi Kavita Prasad acted as commentator for whole programme. Annamacharya Project Director Vijaya Raghavachari coordinated the event. Damodara Swamiji, TTD officials Suryanarayana and Bapiraju, philanthropist Inuganti Ramprakash of Godavari Plywood and others participated.
MP T. Ratna Bai attended the programme as the chief guest and Rampachodavaram MLA Satyanarayana Reddy was guest of honour.
Srinviasa Kalyanotsavams will be conducted on April 12, 13 at Addateegala, at Y. Ramavaram on April 15, Rajavommangi on April 18, Rampachodavaram on April 21, Maredumilli on April 24 and at Devipatnam on April 26.
