The need to encourage decent films made with a conviction to promote human values in society was stressed by speakers at a meeting organised at a preview show of Parampara screened at the Visakhapatnam Public Library on Thursday evening.

Director M.V. Raghu, noted actor Misro and Narava Prakasa Rao of Vizag Film Society commended the film’s director Madhu Mahankali for coming out with such a ‘neat’ film with the objective of promoting human values and for not indulging in the ‘commercial formula’ for easy success.

Mr. Raghu recalled that he had watched the film on the suggestion of his students, who had seen the trailer.

Mr. Prakasa Rao said that the VFS always encouraged good films.

The film was shot at Mandapeta, Ramachandrapuram, and other places in East Godavari district.

“This is not a commercial film, but that doesn’t mean that it falls into the art category. I have not made this film for profit, but I can only make more such meaningful films only when I get adequate returns,” Mr. Madhu, who has over 15 years experience as a cinematographer.

The film does not depict mindless violence or double-entendre dialogues and can be watched by all the members of a family together without any embarrassment.
