Third front a failed idea, says BJP leader

‘Those facing corruption charges have to go to jail’

BJP national general secretary P. Muralidhar Rao has described third front as a failed idea stating that it is nothing but a Congress front and it will lead to anarchy.

At a press conference here on Monday, he said the NDA was well on its course of Mission 272+ Lok Sabha seats and the 2014 election was the beginning of the end of the Congress.

Overcoming all initial hiccups, it had worked out alliances in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh and would win majority seats. He exuded confidence that the South would contribute significantly to the alliance.

The BJP leader said development would be two-pronged in Andhra Pradesh with the State government and the Centre contributing to it. On the other hand, those facing corruption charges and amassing black money, however big they were, had to go to jail, he asserted.

Describing Visakhapatnam as a gateway to the East, he said it had potential to develop as infrastructural, education and entertainment hub. The BJP would not only take up development of ports in a big way but also initiate steps for skill development of fishermen and improve their lot, he said.

Uncertainty

Mr. Muralidhara Rao said Andhra Pradesh faced a lot of uncertainty after bifurcation losing Hyderabad, without a clear idea about the new capital, worry over irrigation for farm sector, drinking water for Visakhapatnam etc.

As election campaign picked up, the party’s prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi’s governance and development dominated everything else. To a question on the killings in Assam, he said if talking about infiltration from Bangladesh was a mistake, solution would elude many problems.

Party leaders Bandaru Ranga Mohana Rao, P.V.N. Madhav and IT cell convener Kiran Chandra were present.
