Tercentenary fete of Guru Granth Sahib

A large number of children, women and men participated in a programme connected with the tercentenary celebrations of the Gurta Gaddi Diwas of Guru Granth Sahib, over the weekend in the city.

People gathered at the Gurudwara Nanak Durbar at Scindia; the Gurudwara Singh Sabha in 104 area and the Gurudwara Sadh Sangat at Seethammadhara and participated and appeared in an examination and won raffle coupons for the draw to be held in Amritsar later.

Any one from one year to 110 years can participate irrespective of his or her age, caste and creed and win prizes. This movement called “300 Saal Sikh Itihaas De Naal” is meant to bind together the youth and elderly and to understand the glorious past and history of Sikh Gurus.

The programme was organised in association with S. Paramjit Singh and Harvinder Singh of Vijayawada and the Sadhsangath of Visakhapatnam, according to a press release on Monday.
