Techie held for cheating foreign student

An unemployed engineering graduate from the city was arrested on Tuesday on the charge of sexually exploiting a foreign student of Andhra University by promising to marry her.

The girl, who is a B.Tech student, approached the III Town Police Station stating that she and Mohammad Salman, 24, used to be good friends for the past several months.

The girl alleged in the complaint that after making her pregnant two months ago, he had been evading her.

During interrogation, police said that the accused denied the charge.

CI Appala Raju said they registered a case under the Nirbhaya Act and the girl sent for medical examination. Investigation is on.
