TDP puts out ‘gag’ order for its leaders

March 03, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

The war of words over injustice to Andhra Pradesh in the Union Budget with regard to special status to the new State and meagre allocation to the Polavaram multipurpose project and the railway zone issue seemed to have rattled the leadership of both parties.

After the budget, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu himself expressed disappointment and Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu had a tough time after a volley of questions from reporters in Hyderabad on Sunday. The day also saw a lengthy meeting between Janasena founder and popular actor Pawan Kalyan and Mr. Naidu on the issue.

However, now TDP seems to be in damage control mode with a “gag order” for its leaders. The fiat was that no TDP leader should comment against State or Central BJP leaders.
