BJP state secretary Somu Veera Raju has said that the TDP and the PRP have no firm policy on the Telengana issue. While PRP president K. Chiranjeevi favoured Telengana before the Assembly elections, changed stand after the party's debacle.
He had now been acting to the tune of Congress only to counter pressure from Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, MP.
The TDP leaders have been speaking on the issue to suit people in their regions, he said at a press conference on Friday.
BJP alone was working with commitment and hence it was decided to cover at least 5,000 villages under ‘palle pilupu' programme once in three months.
It would cover 20,000 villages in a year.
The first phase of the programme is from September 25 to 29 across the state. During the period party leaders and cadres would meet people, conduct gram sabhas and hear their problems.
The party would bring pressure on the government to solve them, he said and added that the party would be strengthened for elections 2014.
State vice-president B. Ram Mohan Rao, district in-charge T. Subbarami Reddy, President P. Sanyasi Raju and general secretary B. Siva Prasad Reddy were present.
