Besides making elaborate arrangements to make the April 27 finale of party president and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s “Vastunna.. Mee Kosam” padayatra that will culminate in a public meeting at AU Engineering College grounds, TDP will organise a yagam for the well-being of Mr. Naidu.

The party’s urban president held a meeting with several former corporators and other organisations like students’ federation and trade unions on making the arrangements.

He said Laskhmisahita Ganapati yagam would be organised at the venue of the meeting of the venue on April 22 seeking the well-being of Mr. Naidu who took up the padayatra in spite of health constraints. All booth, ward-level and constituency-level committees were asked to take up decoration right from the pylon site to the venue of the public meeting.

Mr. Ganesh Kumar said a site at Sivajinagar near the tollgate was finalised for the pylon to be unveiled by Mr.Naidu marking the culmination of the padayatra and work had already begun.

In the motorcycle rally from the pylon to the venue only workers of Gajuwaka and Visakhapatnam West constituencies would participate. He said Mr.Naidu would unveil the pylon and from there reach the venue of the public meeting by an open top jeep.

Arrangements at 500 hotels and kalyanamantapams were being made by the committee headed by Visakhapatnam North in charge Bharanikana Rama Rao.

He said of the total participation, about 20 per cent was expected from the other parts of the State, 20 per cent from Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts and 60 per cent from Visakhapatnam district.

Several former corporators including Nalluri Bhaskara Rao, Lella Koteswara Rao, Manyala Somayya, Ommi Sanyasi Rao, Palla Srinivasa Rao, S. Sitaramanjaneyulu and Gandham Srinivasa Rao were present.
