TDP leader and Director of Visakha Diary G. Satyanarayana was injured when a miscreant hurled a country-made bomb at him on Sunday under Butchiyyapeta Police Station limits in Chodavaram mandal in Visakhapatnam district.

The incident occurred at around 7 p.m. when the leader had gone to inspect the ongoing works at a tank in Kommalapudi. According to the police, he received about three pellet injuries on his hand and back and is stated to be out of danger. He was shifted to a corporate hospital here. However, Chodavaram MLA K. Surya Naga Sanyasi Raju told The Hindu that the TDP leader was fired upon from a distance with a shotgun. Rural SP Rahul Dev Sharma said that initial probe suggests that he was attacked by a country-made bomb.
