Naidu inaugurates a blood bank in the city
Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu flew to Hyderabad on Sunday after offering prayers at Simhachalam and inaugurating a blood bank.
Accompanied by a galaxy of party leaders and wife Bhuvaneswari, son Lokesh and brother-in-law and actor Balakrishna, TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the blood bank of NTR Memorial Trust amid Vedic hymns.
TDP Parliamentary Party leader Nama Nageswara Rao, Polit Bureau members Kodela Siva Prasad, Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu, former MP M.V.V.S. Murthi, Symbiosys Technologies CEO Naresh Kumar and others were present.
Winding up his 208-day ‘Vastunaa Meekosam’ padayatra and addressing a huge meeting in the city, he left for Hyderabad in the afternoon along with his family members after offering prayers to Varaha Lakshmi Nrusimha Swamy at Simhachalam.
The blood bank located opposite Hotel Daspalla Executive Court has the procured state-of-the-art equipment worth Rs.1.5 crore.
Trust members said they had plans to improve the facilities further.
The trust stated that theirs was the first NGO blood bank and the first stand alone blood bank in India to get National Accreditation Board for Health (NABC) accreditation.
It was credited with being the blood bank in the State to get ISO 9001 -2008 quality certification.
There is a proposal to introduce 24x7 call centre for blood banking where in the blood bank arranges voluntary donors for making requests which has a databank of 1.25 lakh voluntary donors.
The trust provides free blood to Thalassemia, sickle cell anaemia, haemophilia patients and poor patients.
