The Centre should declare a tax holiday for the Central PSUs in Visakhapatnam which have suffered extensive damages due to Cyclone Hudhud, CITU State vice president Ch. Narasinga Rao demanded.

He blamed the authorities for the delay in revival of the Central PSUs. "In view of heavy loss suffered by RINL, HPCL, BHEL, HSL and other industries, we appeal to the Centre to declare a tax holiday and offer other incentives to give the industries the much needed confidence to revive their units," Mr. Narsinga said.

Stating that CPSUs had suffered an irreparable loss due to loss of production since October 12 and damage caused to expensive machinery, CITU State vice-president Ch. Narsinga Rao and CPSU Employees' Coordination Committee convener S. Jyoteeswara Rao told reporters on Sunday that it would take a long time for the industries to achieve normal production.
