‘Take moot court seriously’

March 07, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

Moot court will improve the skills of a law student and should be taken seriously, Advocate General of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana P. Venugopal said here on Friday.

Students must take the moot court not as a model of the regular court but as a real court and take up the arguments in support and against an issue, Mr. Venugopal said while inaugurating the second Damodaram Sanjivayya National Moot Court Competitions at the Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University.

Vice-Chancellor of DSNLU R.G.B. Bhagavat Kumar announced that the third moot court competition would be held among students of SAARC nations.

Competitions will be held at the university on Saturday and Sunday. Judge of High Court Nooty Rama Mohana Rao will be chief guest of the valedictory function to be held on late Sunday afternoon.
