‘Swachh drive a continuous programme’

Visakhapatnam Port Trust Chairman M.T. Krishna Babu said that Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was a continuous programme to maintain cleanliness in every sphere of life.

Speaking at the conclusion of the programme, he said as per the call given by the Prime Minister, all the ministries, organisations and establishments had taken up the cleanliness drive. He said everyone must be committed to the idea of contributing to a clean environment not only at the workplace but also at the places of stay .Mr. Krishna Babu asked the employees to spare sometime to maintain their neighbourhood neat and clean. E-office should be done in full swing and commended the initiatives by the officers, staff and employees of VPT for reducing the use of papers.

During the Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan programme, VPT planted 2,000 saplings and disposed of unused materials and furniture.

Unwanted files were also disposed of besides giving a new look to the port area roads.

Deputy Chairman P.L. Haranadh stated that all the offices should adhere to sending files through E-office mode and hard copies and paper work should be dispensed with.
