Suspects identified in murder case

Three youngsters were taken into custody for questioning on Wednesday for the alleged murder of 19-year-old M Raghuvarma, who was stabbed to death by three unidentified persons near RTC Complex at Narsipatnam on Monday.

The deceased was stabbed with a small sharp-edged weapon like a pen knife, but he died after travelling a little distance on his bike to escape further attack, as the stab injury punctured his lungs, said Superintendent of Police Rahul Dev Sharma.

According to the ASP of Narsipatnam, Aishwarya Rastogi the deceased a college dropout was involved in Ganja smuggling and was also arrested in 2016. The initial investigation points to ganja smuggling gang rivalry. “We are investigating the case and will crack it in a day or two. The prime suspects have been identified and we are questioning them,” he said.

The police ruled out the contract killing angle, as reported in certain sections of the media
