Surabhi plays from Aug. 3

Surbabhi plays will be staged at Kalabharathi auditorium from August 3 to 5 under the aegis of Rangasai Nataka Sangham of Visakhapatnam.

The Surabhi plays, which have been drawing the attention of Telugu audiences for the past 131 years, are expected to once again enthral connoisseurs of drama, according to president of Rangasai Nataka Sangham Badamgeer Sai.

The plays will be staged under the direction of Padmashri R. Nageswara Rao (Subabhi Babji) of Sri Venkateswara Natya Mandali of Hyderabad.

The three-day event will begin with the pouranic drama ‘Maya Bazaar’ on August 3, followed by the folk drama ‘Paathala Bhairavi’ on August 4 and conclude with a repeat performance of ‘Maya Bazaar’ on August 5.

Over 70 artistes will participate in the stage plays. Donor passes can be purchased for Rs.300, Rs.200 and Rs.100. Advance booking for donor passes can be done on by calling 94404 58458 or 90104 58458.

Donor passes will also be available at Sai Badamgeer shop beside Daspalla Ingate, ‘Sri Studio’, opp. Kalabharathi, Vijay Cell Shoppe(Dabagardens) and Rajahmundry Saree Mandir at Dondaparthy and at Baba DTP Centre at Jagadamba junction.
