Submarine tragedy: two bodies arrive

The bodies of T. Rajesh (29) and B. Seetharam (30), who died when the Naval submarine, INS Sindhurakshak, sank following a blast at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai on August 14, arrived here by an Air India plane on Saturday afternoon.

While Rajesh hails from Peda Gantyada in the city, Seetaram was a native of Mandasa in Srikakulam district. Their bodies were salvaged from the wreckage of the submarine.

Officers of Eastern Naval Command and police officials and relatives of the victims received the coffins, when the plane landed at the airport at 2.30 p.m. Naval officials and staff presented a guard of honour.
