Sub-Treasury employee in ACB net

The officials of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested KSCTA Jagannadha Rao, Junior Assistant of the Sub-Treasury Office at V Madugula in the district while he was allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹ 20,000 from a complainant V Ramaji Goud at the Sub-Treasury Office.

Ramaji Goud, a computer operator (outsourcing) of Vaddadi gram panchayat, has approached Rao for process of online transfer of cheque of ₹10 lakh issued by the sarpanch towards NREGS grant in favour of the Executive Engineer PRI Division, Vizag.

The Junior Assistant Rao has allegedly demanded 2 % on the cheque for doing the official favour. Ramji Goud lodged a complaint with ACB on Thursday night.

After verifying the facts, ACB officials led by DSP K Ramakrishna Prasad laid a trap and caught the Rao when he was allegedly accepting the bribe. Rao was produced before the ACB court in the city.
