Civil rights activist G. Haragopal on Thursday said naxal leader Pyla Vasudeva Rao dedicated his life for the uplift of downtrodden sections and stayed more than 30 years in the forest.

Mr. Haragopal and other leaders inaugurated ‘stupam' which was built at Rittapadu village in Srikakulam district.

Rattapadu village was the native place of Vasudeva Rao, who died on February 11, 2011.

Contribution recalled

Mr. Haragopal recalled the contribution of the naxal leader and said he had created awareness among the people over their rights.
