With the Town Planning staff of the GVMC on strike in Samaikyandhra movement, unauthorised constructions are going on in the city. So far, 47 unauthorised constructions have been identified in Zone II comprising some of the core areas of the city, according to Municipal Commissioner M.V. Satyanarayana.
Details of such constructions in the other parts of the city are being obtained.
Meanwhile, the construction of third floor on a G+2 building at Potinamallayyapalem was demolished, the Commissioner said.
It’s an independent building on 400 square yards of land.
The owner stated that he had applied for permission and pending approval started construction.
Unauthorised constructions — one each at MVP Colony, Sankar Mutt Road and HB Colony — were also demolished on Wednesday.
A detailed circular would be issued with clear-cut guidelines with an intention to prevent such constructions.
Details of unauthorised construction going on in the other areas would also be obtained and action taken against them. Any construction without obtaining plan approval is considered unauthorised.
Hence the possibility for levying a compounding fee, if at all the construction was eligible for plan approval, would also be considered.
