Stevedores in forefront

The Visakhapatnam Stevedores’ Association was the first to come forward for debris clearance by deploying hundreds of dumpers, loaders, cranes and other heavy machinery a day after Hudhud hit Visakhapatnam.

The association distributed essential food items like rice, dal and edible oil to 1500 needy families in Kotaveedhi area. In addition, Ravi Chand Bothra Charitable Trust distributed more than 65,000 food packets in the city as well as adjoining rural areas.

Vizag Seaports Private Ltd is distributing oil packets to 3,000 needy families in the city. While thanking Chief Minister N. Chandraabu Naidu and port Chairman M.T. Krishna Babu for their initiative, the association has said it will do whatever is possible to help the cyclone- affected people.

NTPC gesture

After restoring three units of Simhadri Super Thermal Power Plant at Parawada, NTPC is continuing humanitarian help to the cyclone- affected people.

The company is providing medical help and drinking water supply to the needy in the surrounding villages. Group General Manager A.K. Samanta took part in debris clearance and water distribution programme at Gorusuvanipalem and other villages.
