Steel and cement dealers seek better deal

Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Taxes T. Siva Sankar Rao has advised steel and cement dealers to comply with the rules before claiming various concessions as per the law.

The Deputy Commissioner, who participated as chief guest at the general body meeting of the Visakhapatnam Steel and Cement Dealers Association here on Wednesday, gave a patient hearing to the problems and concerns expressed by the dealers over the implementation of VAT and its provisions. He told the dealers that awareness meets were required to bridge the gap between traders and officials of the department besides promoting trust.

Mr. Siva Sankar Rao said that traders were neglecting maintenance of accounts.
