The crowds went into a frenzy when playback singers — Sreeram Chandra and Geetha Madhuri — and their troupe presented a high-voltage musical programme at the stadium complex of NTPC Simhadri Super Thermal Power Project at Deepanjalinagar.

Braving the cool climate at the stadium complex, NTPCians and their family members clapped and danced, enjoying the performance of Sreeram, the winner of Indian Idol-5, and Geetha Madhuri.

The action-packed programme preceded by an attractive firework show held to mark the conjunction of the month, day, and year (12.12.12) and commemorate the decennial celebration of excellence of Simhadri and completion of Stage-II expansion.

The crowds went into raptures as the duo belted out hit numbers from Bollywood and Tollywood. There was thunderous applause when Sreeram sang title song from Narnia-3 (Rehnuma). The dance and song performance by the duo while presenting the ‘Bangaru bathuguddu’ song from NTR-Sridevi starrer ‘Vetagadu’ wowed the audience fully.

Lead role

Sreeram disclosed that he was acting in the lead role in a Telugu film titled ‘Prema Geema Janta Nai’, and said he felt always happy whenever he had an opportunity to visit the City of Destiny.

Youth sensation Revanth became a big hit with the teenagers by singing ‘nenu nikento nuvvu naku ante’.

Geeta Madhuri received instant response from the audience, who broke into frenzied dance of joy and jubilation when she sang and danced to the tune of Tollywood hit ‘Allegra, allegra…’

Revanth-Geetha duo set the stage on fire with their ‘Bommali’ song ‘masala mirchi pilla maja cheddamu vasttava’ from Billa.

Rajiv of Comedy Circus fame, Zee TV’s ‘Sarigamapa’ Little Champs winners Pravasti and Sai Deva Harsha also added colour to the musical and cultural extravaganza.
