Purandeswari seeks DPRs for various proposals
Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry D. Purandeswari wants detailed project reports (DPRs) for various proposals she intends to pursue in New Delhi and get clearance. In a letter, she asked district Collector V. Sheshadri to concentrate on DPR for an international convention centre under Central funding under the Ministry of Commerce; science city and museum under the Ministry of Culture; youth hostel under the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, and proposals under Agriculture and Processed Foods Export Development Authority and MPEDA.
Another proposal relates to converting one of the existing government schools into sports school of the Government of India.
The school should have land available for playground as the Centre would spend up to Rs.9 crore for upgrading the school.
There is a proposal to establish campuses of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade and IIPM.
Requesting the district Collector to get the DPRs prepared and send them to the Central government through the State government in a month, the Minister said if there was dearth of funds for preparing the DPRs she would, if guidelines allowed, sanction the same from her MPLAD funds.
