As part of the ongoing Navy Week celebrations, INS Shivalik, the first indigenously built Stealth Frigate of the Navy, hosted special children from various schools of Visakhapatnam on Friday.

Captain Rajesh Pendharkar, Commanding Officer, INS Shivalik, and Sandhya Rao Pendharkar interacted with over 160 special children and faculty members from Sankalp, Arunodaya Special School, Lebenshilfe, Sunflower Special School, Bethany School, Mandala Vikalangula Sankshema Sangham, and Pavani Institute.

The children were given a guided tour of the ship and a feel of the nautical way of life, including a live demonstration. Photographs were also displayed on photo boards to apprise them of the Fleet activities undertaken all year round.

Thereafter, the children exhibited their cultural talents through a short variety entertainment programme. The drawing and singing competitions were followed by a sumptuous meal onboard, which the children thoroughly enjoyed.

Ms. Sandhya Rao Pendharkar gave away prizes to the children who participated actively in the competitions. All children were given ship caps and gifts by the Eastern Fleet, making their visit even more memorable.
