Waste to energy plant mooted

Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana has said the government is considering setting up waste to energy plant on the lines of those in Sweden to solve the solid waste management problem. At a meeting with MLAs and GVMC officials on Sunday, he said he visited the Jindal power plant in New Delhi. The Minister said introducing English medium in all GVMC schools would be taken up with HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao. Mr, Srinivasa Rao wanted BRTS to be completed at the earliest and arrangements be made to tide over the water crisis in summer.
