Efforts are on to make Ramachandranagar and Tarakaramanagar in Ward 34 as model slums.

SHG group members of Tarakaramanagar Mutually Aided Co-operative Society-1 collected details of 341 houses in the area. They have come forward to monitor sanitation, water supply and functioning of taps and bore-wells. They said streetlights were functioning 100 per cent in the area.

To see whether the instructions of Minister for Infrastructure and Investment Ganta Srinivasa Rao were being implemented after his visit on Tuesday, Municipal Commissioner M.V. Satyanarayana made a visit on Wednesday. The leaking pipelines were being repaired.

He congratulated the MACS members for their efforts to make it a model slum and Zone Commissioner J. Vijayalakshmi for the encouragement she was giving them.

Mr. Satyanarayana later visited the dispensaries at Gullalapalem and Malkapuram. He said the new dispensary being built at Gullalapalem would be inaugurated during the proposed visit of the Chief Minister.
