Skating rink at VUDA Park to be improved

Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority Vice Chairman T. Baburao Naidu has sanctioned Rs.7 lakh for immediate development of greenery around the NTR International Skating Rink at the VUDA Park.

During an inspection on Tuesday morning, he sanctioned the amount and directed the officials to take up the work immediately and complete it as early as possible.

The rink is being used by a large number of children and youth for training, being the only available standard facility. The VUDA DFO B. Raja Rao and Superintendent Engineer M. Appanna have been asked to take up work on improving greenery and lighting.

The officials were also directed to provide an e-toilet nearby.

GVMC Commissioner Pravin Kumar and MLA P.G.V.R. Naidu (Ganababu) who were present also gave suggestions on improving facilities at the rink.

Skating Association representative Prasanna Kumar and VUDA Executive Engineer G. Kalpana and Horticulture Officers G.V. Lakshmi and Simhadri were present.
