Six-storeyed super speciality building to come up on KGH premises

PSUs to donate Rs. 85 crore for the purpose

PSUs entered into MoU with King George Hospital assuring Rs. 60 crore out of the Rs. 85 crore promised for construction of the six-storeyed super speciality building on the hospital premises, Rajya Sabha Member T. Subbarami Reddy said here on Saturday.

He was speaking after KGH Superintendent M. Madhusudhana Babu and General Manager (HR) of BHEL HPVP G. Uday Kumar exchanged MoU copies on BHEL’s donation of Rs. 15 crore to KGH. The rest of amount (Rs. 25 crore) would be received in two to three weeks and construction of the building was expected to commence in a month’s time. The building might be ready in three years.

The Rs. 65 crore would be coming from ONGC, GAIL and BHEL (Rs. 15 crore each); Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (Rs. 10 crore) and NTPC (Rs. 5 crore) while VPT, HPCL and Nuclear Power Corporation would contribute Rs. 5 crore each and the NMDC has in principle agreed to donate Rs. 10 crore.

GM D. Asokan of BHEL, GM (HR), BHEL-HPVP (Visakhapatnam), General Manger of VSP Krishna and GM of HPCL Ramanan, Deputy Superintendent of KGH P.V. Sudhakar, RMO Bangaraiah and others were present.

Greetings to TSR

Rajya Sabha Member T. Subbarami Reddy received greetings for being elected for the third consecutive term and was also reminded of his duty to speak for the people.

“TSR open your mouth; we want to see you in the well of Rajya Sabha; don’t keep smiling but go to the well; you are our representative and express our feelings (to the Rajya Sabha)”, the doctors, medical students and nurses reminded Mr. Reddy of his duties in the present situation.

This was the experience the Rajya Sabha Member and former Minister faced after a function during which he happily watched KGH and BHEL authorities exchanging MoU papers on latter’s Rs. 15 crore donation to the hospital’s Rs. 85 crore super speciality building, a pet project of his, Mr. Subbarami Reddy.

The doctors moved in to the hall as the ceremony ended and after handing over a bouquet and congratulating him for re-election, wanted Mr. Reddy to speak up for Samaikyandhra Pradesh. He only could do it, one doctor was heard saying to Mr. Reddy. The Rajya Sabha member assured that he would work towards keeping the State unified.
