Six struck dead by lightning

Lightning struck various parts of North Andhra region on Thursday killing six people and injuring three.

As per reports, lightning claimed four lives in Vizianagaram district and two in Vizag district. Two persons, a woman and her daughter died at Varahapuram area under Chedikada mandal in Vizag district after lightning struck them while they were working at a farm. The deceased were identified as P. Ramulamma (40) and M. Parvathi (20).

65-year-old K. Ramu Naidu and his cousin K Appala Naidu (55) died at Kasaipeta under L. Kota mandal in Vizianagaram district when lightning struck them. Similarly, D. Viswanath (55) of Chukavanipalem of S. Kota mandal and R. Annapuram (55) of Pedamanapuram of Dattirajeru mandal in Vizianagaram district died. The revenue officials and police said that all the deceased were farmers.
