After a wait of almost an hour, actors Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan showed up for the press conference of Rohit Shetty’s Singham Returns , which is scheduled for an Independence Day release.

On a tour of major cities to promote the action-packed comedy, the two readily answered queries related to movies. Devgn, who plays the lead, says  Singham Returns  is an out-and-out action film where it is Kareena who packs in the comedy – she will also be seen driving an autorickshaw in the movie.

When asked how much she trained to drive the auto, Kareena said, “It was impromptu and I don’t think one needs to train to drive an auto if he/she knows to drive.”

What about all the slang she used?

“It is all in a lighter vein and this isn’t the first time slang is being used on screen,” she replied with a smile.

She said she had agreed to do Singham… after refusing other offers “because director Rohit Shetty gave me a substantial role even though Ajay Devgn plays the title role.”  The movie was mostly shot at the Ramoji Film City and the two actors said it was a pleasant experience coming over to the ‘familiar city’.

Ajay said Kareena was a wonderful co-worker and the chemistry was better because they had worked together on earlier occasions. Both agreed that a lot of scripts for Bollywood movies were being borrowed from the South and added, “If the storyline is relevant and the script is good, there is no harm in sharing.”
