SI commits suicide in Visakhapatnam

A 28-year-old Sub-Inspector of Police G. Veeranjaneyulu allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train near Simhachalam Railway Station, late on Tuesday night.

A resident of Gopalpatnam in Visakhapatnam, the SI was earlier implicated in a bribery case, when we was working as a probationary SI at Vangara Police Station in Srikakulam District, in October 2014.

The SI was under suspension and also served a conviction in Visakhapatnam Central Jail.

On Tuesday night he did not return home and his body was found on the tracks on Wednesday morning. The police are investigating the case.
