Visakhapatnam East MLA and Telugu Desam party leader V. Ramakrishna Babu will take up various service activities from January 18 to 20 in connection with the 14th death anniversary of former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao.

Mr. Babu will start various programmes after garlanding the statue of NTR at Appughar and undertook a padayatra. He said he would present scholarships, books and uniforms to 100 poor students studying in government schools.

A poor-feeding programme will be conducted for 6,000 people in seventh ward. He will later distribute fruits among the inmates of old age home and Cancer Hospital in MVP Colony.

On January 19, the MLA will visit second ward and distribute fans to the Christian School, Arilova.

Mr. Babu said he would lay the foundation stone for SC Colony Community Hall and ground several developmental works at Kotha Venkojipalem in 10th ward on January 20. He will launch work on Self-Help Group Women community hall in ninth ward near Sitarama temple.

He will distribute cooking utensils to poor women in Relli Veedhi and AU out-gate in 18th ward and interact with members of Relli Yuvajana Sangham on January 22.

Tri-cycles will be distributed at the MLA’s office in MVP Colony on January 23. This will be followed by a free medical camp in Bhanoji Nagar. He will launch a vocational training centre for women in 24th ward and contribute funds for renovation for construction of church and a temple. Uniforms will be distributed to auto drivers at the MLA’s office on January 25 and financial help will be extended for renovation of a temple on January 26 in Arilova Colony.

Corporator of eighth ward Ch. Venkata Pattabhiram, TDP publicity secretary B. Pothanna Reddy, eighth ward president Kala Shankara Rao and 10th ward secretary Dhana Reddy were present.
