Senior advocate M. Ramakoti died of heart attack on Friday night.

He was 80. His sons Srinivasa Rao and Madhava Rao are advocates.

Ramakoti began his career as an advocate in 1954 and was president of the bar association in 1998-99.

He played a significant role in celebrating the centenary of the association in 1995.

A writer with several acclaimed short stories to his credit, among other works, he was the recipient of the Rachakonda Rachana Puraskaram in 2009.

Former Chairman of the Bar Council of India D.V. Subba Rao mourned his death.

A condolence meeting will be held at the District Court on Monday.
